Abstract: This paper uses a semiotic analysis of the Miao Lusheng dance, part of the intangible cultural heritage of Maguan County, to elaborate on the relationship between semiotics and intangible cultural heritage, the symbolic features and values of Lusheng dance, and the way to inherit and develop it. In addition, this paper argues for the need to develop and protect the intangible cultural heritage of Maguan county to enrich its local ethnic cultural resources.
