Abstract: The term“ideology”, always associated with terms such as “power”, “class” and “controlling”, has been considered a pan-political concept since its origination. However, ideology is increasingly being adopted instudies of literature, the arts and social sciences due to the rise of pop culture as characterised by secularisation. Hence, it can be estimated that ideology is gradually growing independent of politics and accordingly being shaped into a new form. Compared with politicalised ideology, the renewed ideology is secularised and mainly manipulated by sets of symbols.
