Abstract: Russian formalism constitutes one of the essential lines in the history of the European semiotics. As such, this phenomenon is influential both in the arts and the science. Many of its central notions are in fact musical. As a Finnish musicologist and semiotician, I trace some of Russian formalism’s Finnish connection and discuss some of its music-related concepts. In addition, I will focus on the key concepts and influence of three important theorists: Wilhelm Sesemann, Vladimir Propp, and Mikhail Bakhtin.

摘要：俄国形式主义是欧洲符号学历史上的基本方向之一，在艺术与科学中都颇具影响。形式主义的许多核心概念都和音乐相关。作为芬兰的音乐学家和符号学家，作者追溯了俄国形式主义和芬兰的渊源，并讨论了它与音乐相关的一些概念。此外，作者还考察了威廉·泽塞曼、普洛普和巴赫金这三位重要的理论家提出的核心概念及其影响。
